Compliance and Enforcement
The AML Compliance Dy. Manager/Manager is integral in ensuring the ongoing effectiveness of Avenues Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Finance (AML/CTF) programs. This role works extensively with internal and external parties, including banking partners and vendors, to execute and oversee key AML/CTF programs in India, Australia and other markets. This is a newly created role designed to execute as part of a small local team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Analysing and executing investigative research to ensure the legitimacy and on-boarding of any new customers and to mitigate all potential regulatory risk pertaining to Anti Money Laundering (AML) & Know Your Customer (KYC).
Analysing Sanctions, SDN, Adverse news & Politically Exposed Person (PEP) hits while performing the background screening.
Provide leadership on a small, hands-on team to execute and/or oversee all aspects of Avenues AML/CTF programs in India. This includes working with AML/KYC and support functions in multiple time zones.
Design, document, and execute processes in support of AML/CTF programs, including identification of key risks and controls. Read and interpret complex documents relating to new or changing regulatory requirements. Evaluate process efficiency and drive improvement.
Manage relationships with banking partners and vendors as well as with regulators.
Support key business initiatives and ensure the risks of new products and channels are adequately measured and mitigated.
Monitor key AML/CTF program metrics and ensure issues are promptly addressed. Work closely with the Compliance Head to manage the overall AML/CTF program.

Qualifications

Minimum of 4-5 years in AML/KYC at a decision-making level. Previous experience in the remittance industry is preferred.
Certifications in AML/KYC are preferred.
Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Fluency in other languages is an advantage.
Proficiency with core Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required.
Experience with flowcharting/process mapping software (Microsoft Visio) preferred.
B.Com, MBA or equivalent preferred.

Skills And Abilities

The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of India & Australia’s Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act and other relevant AML/CTF guidance.
Must have strong project management experience and a demonstrated ability to deliver short and long-term change management initiatives in a complex environment.
Must have a successful track record of providing meaningful coaching and mentoring to direct reports while managing individual and team outcomes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, and well-demonstrated interpersonal, customer service, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills are key.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required, and the successful candidate will need to employ sound judgment to draw conclusions based on limited information.
Strong sense of personal accountability is a must.
Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and able to keep a small team of direct reports on task with minimal supervision.
Ability to multi-task, balance priorities, and deliver results is critical.

Responsible for compliance and enforcement.
Prepare and submit required reports to external agencies.
Draft enterprise security standards and guidelines for system configuration.
Install and maintain security infrastructure, including IPS, IDS, log management, and security assessment systems.
Create and perform procedures for system security audits, penetration-tests, and vulnerability assessments.

Develop and implement an ongoing risk assessment program targeting information security and privacy matters, recommend methods for vulnerability detection and remediation, and should have hands on experience in vulnerability testing.
